Chapter 3: Section 2 Notes
By the end of the section, you should be able to:
- Solve linear systems of equations using the substitution method.
- Solve linear systems of equations using the elimination method.
Definitions:
- Substitution: replacing a value with an equivalent value that may look different.
- Elimination: combining two equations in a system of equations in such a way that one variable is cancelled out.
- Equivalent Systems: two systems that are the same even though they may look different.
- Every coefficient in one system is changed by a factor of some kind
